Welcome to a edition of Film Studies. Today we’re looking at the 1982 Classic John Carpenter’s The Thing.
Released in 1982, The Thing is a remake of 1951’s The Thing from Another World, both of which are based on a short story called Who Goes There written by John W. Campbell published 1938. The script was written by Bill Lancaster and directed by John Carpenter. The movie’s most notable stars are Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley and Jed, the dog!
As usual, we review this film and discuss ways it could inspire tabletop RPG adventures, characters or practices.
Our academic team is completed by Lloyd Gyan (@druggeddwarf) of Modiphius Games. Tom Cantwell (@BeskarTom) of The RPG Academy and Al Nicholas (@BigAlTheLawyer)
