Welcome to Detention…Episode 2!

Hello students! Welcome to a new bonus feature on The RPG Academy, Detention!

We were so happy to hear good feedback about this bonus content that we decided to make more!

In this episode, Scott and Matt join me to talk about all kinds of nonsense. As usual, these episodes are a little more rough around the edges, with less editing to reflect a more conversational tone. They also include more of the tangents, bad jokes, and adult language that we tend to use when we’re hanging out and having fun.

This week, Extra Curricular Activities includes such topics as Harry Dresden, DBZ, and Matt’s new podcast Zeros Talking Heroes (always remember, 3 2 1 Friendship!) In Dead Campaigns, Matt shares his ill-fated adventures with the Violet Storm. And in Class Review, we discuss everyone’s favorite backstabber, the Rogue.

Also, the ghost of Jim McClure seems to be haunting this episode. If only there was someone we could call…

Lastly, long live Blaze Lockstep.

-Professor Crunch-

As always, thanks for listening. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or requests for future episodes. We hope you enjoy.

Comments and Feedback are always welcome.

  1. Another good episode.

I am currently working through the Dresden series for the first time. I’m currently on book three. I’m a big fan of pulpy sorts of books like there, that keep a well paced story but don’t take them self seriously at all.

    1. I love Dresden. The world and lore is well-built and I’m always intrigued by the story. The early books are slow, but they establish a great foundation to the series. There are so many layers of secrets and revelations. I would love to chat with you as you read through for the first time.

Me too, I just finished ‘Changes’ and wow! Love the pulpy stories and don’t think threats against the author help much.

      1. Changes is one of my favorites, because so much happens and it’s the point that Harry seems to stop being so incompetent. It’s also supposedly the halfway point of the series.

You could codify the intro bit too be “do you know why you’re here (in detention)?” for the chalkboard gag. You guys did a little bit of that, but it could be funny to have a different crazy answer each time.

    1. I am all about bits like this. And since I’m editing these, maybe it’ll happen!

Also, Jem and the Holograms Wushu for an all-bard party?

    1. I do love classic cartoons like that.

    2. that would be outrageous. Truly, truly outrageous!
