The Campaigns: FAE Deadlands – Episode 5: Bad Day at the Watering Hole

Hello and welcome to the campaigns, the Actual Play Podcasts from DnD Academy.

This FAE Deadlands, Episode 5: Bad Day at The Watering Hole

This Campaign series is being recorded using Google Hangouts and the roll20.net plugin.

It’s being GM’d by Porter Williams (@Rzrstrm). We are using his A&A Method for FAE.

In our last couple of episodes (you know, the ones where the audio is terrible!) our PC’s made their way through the desert after finding a couple of the Apache horses.  Sebastian tried to ride off and get away from Jonah, but due to me lack of survival skills I rode in a circle and ended up right back at camp. We then trekked  through the desert, sorry, the harsh, unrelenting hell of a desert and finally managed to make it through the Fractal Challenge Porter had set up.  We pick up in this Episode as we stare out at a lone Ranch House.

Thanks for listening. We hope you enjoy.
Comments and Feedback are always welcome.

    Oh no… The last one… For a short time I hope… Hurry Michael… edit… edit… edit… LOL

Very good podcast; a nice splash of Tremors (the town Potential) meets Star Wars Welcome to Tatooine.

Very good information that Porter has put up on his site (www.tabletopexplorer.wordpress.com) that refers to this podcast – Chupacabra, Fractaled Arizona Desert, Character stats.

How is Scott’s character’s name spelled? And not just Martine. The fuuuuuuull length.

Is Scott just BS’ing us with his Indian talk, or is it a real language? The “who-ya-on-ya”??? LOL

After the group gets to the waterhole, the podcast seems to thicken and turns into a strong western movie; excellent!!!

Nice little quips said this episode…

“Is there a story that covers this situation?”

“…I am going to punch him in the face.” OMG!!! Reservoir Dogs??? Nice!!!

“And they make salsa there too.”

Well it is time to work on the ranch.

    But first…

Dinner and the recorded chit chat when Porter’s microphone died.

    Cheers

I did a lot of reading for this character, at least a lot for me. I didn’t want to play just another offensive native stereotype, and I certainly didn’t want to insult anyone of Yaqui heritage. I’m sure I’ve butchered the pronunciation, of course.

The world (in Yaqui, anía) is composed of five separate worlds: the desert wilderness world (huya ania), the mystical world (yo ania, also called the ancient or enchanted world), the flower world (sea ania), the dream world (tenku ania), and the night world (tuka ania).

If you’re interested, the most helpful online source I found was Yaqui Deer Songs by Maso Bwikam.
