The Campaigns: A New World – Episode 5: It’s a what?

Hello and welcome to the campaigns, the Actual Play Podcasts from DnD Academy.

This is A New World: Episode 5:  It’s a What?

In our last episode, the PC’s continued to examine the holds in an effort to find out what caused the fire. They found evidence that an Alchemical Substance called FLASH may have been used to ignite the fire in multiple locations. Sandra an NPC that Rob’s Character Durrand had spent some time with during the trip out to the portal was asked to help the investigation. She explained that if the aim was to ignite the NITRO then it would have been much easier. The PC’s now think the fire was just a distraction, but don’t know by whom or for what purpose.

They also found Valius, a Beardless Dwarf (Niko’s PC) Under a stasis spell hidden inside a barrel. The Nobel’s Mavin and Gunther believe him to be the arsonist and he being questioned as we begin this episode.

Thanks for listening. We hope you enjoy.

Nice location (Rivenstone) and dateline; “Captain’s log… ATP5”

Holy Crap… Quick fast interrogation of the dwarf; Niko did a nice job ripping out those questions and answers.

    YES!!! Godzilla vs Bambi LOL

OMG… No kidding… “It’s a What?” Michael is watching too many SciFi channel B movies to find names for his newly created creatures. Technically, would that not be a …topus instead of a …topis?

Yeah!!! Finally a combat!!! Though I have complained about the lack of combat in other podcasts, the build up so far in the other 4 episodes have been pretty good; nice ending to give enough of a wanting to return to see what happens.

Good job trying to communicate instead of killing; but so much for convincing the other combat deprived characters to not attack; I guess they wanted the 3 weeks of fresh …… what the heck is that thing called?

LMAO… A dwarf in underoos. I attack with my shield, rapier, wife beater, and +2 silky underoos.

Good battle – a bit more fluency by the players would be nicer.

For the fluency when I DM, I tell the players who is up, on deck and depending sometimes who is up third.

It is true with spell casters to be for the more advanced player (unless you have the time to help) and have new players play the hack & slash fighter.

Do not know if there are sound quality issues again, but it is sounding like the players are sitting far back from the microphone when they are up and having fun chat while others are talking.

    27 points of damage… OUCH!!!

Hope the creature brought dental floss to pick out the body parts from between its teeth or pepto bismol.
