Dungeon Talk: Episode 39 – The Not So Great Escape

Hello and Welcome to Dungeon Talk. The General advice and discussion podcast from DnD Academy.

I am Michael and this is Dungeon Talk Episode 39 – The Not So Great Escape. This week our first returning guest

Matthew Parody (Co-host of the ProbablyQuestionable podcast) joins Caleb and I as we discuss the use of Prison as a setting in your D&D or RPG game.

We hit this a couple different ways:

1. Starting a game in prison. Do you use this just to get the band together or is there a challenge/puzzle tied into the prison.

2. Setting the game in a  prison.

3. Using a prison as part of a longer on-going game.

Stick around after the show for some Nazi talk – always a good time.

I like the idea of some of the players being prisoners and some of them guards at the start of the campaign. Or maybe take a little from prison break where one character has been wrongly inprisoned and the brother getting locked up on purpose in order to escape.
